Why do I need to study English?????
2012 Jul 17, 4:33 PM
First of all, I would like to thank COAF on behalf of all the students of our village for such a nice opportunity. Then I want to mention about the time that I started to attend the English group. Due to this group, I acquired much knowledge, many new friends and revealed a lot of interesting things for me. I have attended this group with love and great pleasure, because I know that English is an international language and studying English will enable me to become a specialist in Intercultural communications.
Why do I need to study English? That is a very important question for me. I want to study English because I want, I like it and I have to. As the famous proverb says, “The more languages you know, the better human being you feel yourself”. And I want to start from English. At first I didn't study English, because in our school we studied German. But then, I realized that I need it, because almost everywhere I came across something that was written in English, but it was a pity that I could not understand it.
In the beginning, when I saw unknown words, I came home, found them in the dictionary and tried to remember. Then I started studying English in private. And finally I started attending COAF’s English Classes. Now I can write, understand and speak English better than at the beginning. These classes help me a lot: they enable me to implement many of the dreams that I have. I wish I could speak English as a native speaker. I believe that I can make my dream come true because I want this very much. I thank COAF for giving us an opportunity to study English free of charge. I would also like to thank my dear teacher Miss Ann, because she teaches us very well. She is not only our teacher, but also our friend and we feel very comfortable with her.
We went to the English Summer Camps during these last two weeks. Every morning we had our English classes, but they were a little different because we did our classes with the Shenik Students. During this camp, we could better understand each other and work together in the group. The activities were interesting and I now have many friends from different villages. The camp gave me freedom too. I learned many things about life and I know that this new knowledge will help me during my life.
There is no word about our volunteers too. They’ve become our friends. The first day we got acquainted with each other in the course of different activities. I liked all of them very much, because they spoke with us only English and it helped us very much. I remember that after the time spent in the camp, I returned home and was so impressed that I wanted to speak English also at home. Many thanks to our guest speakers: they had spoken about different things and we were really impressed. I have got many new friends in America and in Armenia. I hope that I can keep in touch with them for a long time.
In the end, I want to thank COAF again, because I can’t imagine my life without this organization. In this sphere I feel like fish in the water. Thanks to COAF, our village has become very modern and has had much progress. Thanks a lot.

When we study human language, we are approaching what some might call the "human essence," the distinctive qualities of mind that are, so far as we know, unique to man. NOAM CHOMSKY
